SYNOPSIS

Reggio Emilia,1969. Thirty young militant communists leave the Communist Party, accusing it of having betrayed the ideals of the ‘Resistenza’. Accompanied by numerous anarchist and socialist, they form L’Appartamento, a community in which revolutionary dreams can still exist. Emilia Romagna, 2007. Some of this men meet in the same restaurant, where forty years earlier they decided to take up arms. They discuss the dramatic events that sent some of them to prison for several years, along with their motivation at the time and the choices they made. Il Sol dell’Avvenire is the first Italian film to explore the ideological and political roots of the far-left’s terrorism.
